Kenya & Tanzania Safari – 11 Days

Take a private safari to the best of all the East African national parks. Depending on the time of year, you’ll have the chance to see the great migration in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Take in the wonders of the amazing Ngorongoro Crater, the world famous Serengeti National Park, Tarangire’s gigantic Baobab trees and huge elephant populations, and the tree climbing lions of Lake Manyara and Masai Mara Game Reserve.
The tour starts in Arusha and ends in Nairobi. Along the way you’ll have countless adventures in your own animal tracking vehicle, travelling the wild African savanna in search of big game. If you’re a nature enthusiast at heart, this trip is definitely one you don’t want to miss!.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) -Arusha

Upon arrival, you will be met at the Kilimanjaro International Airport by me and our driver. After being taken to your hotel, your safari manager will come and meet you for a safari briefing. Whichever you choose, tonight you can sit back, enjoy your dinner and settle into the African way of life. 1st night at L’oasis Lodge or similar lodge, meals on half board basis.

Day 2: Arusha –Tarangire National Park

After breakfast from L’oasis Lodge, with packed lunch boxes, you will depart for Tarangire National Park, Tanzania’s third largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lion, leopard, and cheetah and up to six thousand elephants.

Eventually, you will arrive and stay overnight at beautiful Lake Manyara, which Ernest Hemingway once called the “The loveliest lake in Africa.” The national park is home to the unique tree-climbing lions of Lake Manyara, which you’ll have the chance to see lounging in the high tree branches.

Ngorongoro Crater – Natural Wonders

After breakfast from hotel, you’ll depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a wonderful game drive and picnic lunch. The inside of the crater is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the highest wild animal densities worldwide. Among the species are lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. You might expect to see the ‘Big Five’ in one day! You’ll then stay overnight at a lodge inside the crater.

The South Serengeti ecosystem belongs partly to the Serengeti National park and partly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species.
